This week’s episode of Teen Mom 2 has Jenelle Evans once again having to defend herself in the face of MTV editing. The scene in question was actually her preview clip this week and featured the MTV camera crew confronting her and boyfriend David Eason about whether or not she is pregnant. Jenelle denies being pregnant, but Co-Executive Producer Kristen shares Flip Cam footage of her and David riding in the car together and having a conversation which clearly indicates they just found out she is pregnant again. Jenelle continues to deny that she is pregnant as the MTV crew makes a joke and laughs.
In addition, Jenelle’s mother Barbara is shown later in the episode finding out about Jenelle’s pregnancy after the police accident report was released online revealing Jenelle was at least ten weeks pregnant at the time.
Confusing matters even more, some fans believe that the different segments for each of the moms are filmed at the same time, so given the fact that Chelsea is due after Jenelle, then clearly she must have been pregnant in that scene. Of course, the moms’ segments shown in each episode are rarely filmed at the same time, and some of the individual moms’ segments weren’t even filmed at the same time. (That was actually the case with Jenelle and her mother in this episode, but more on that in a minute.)
I’m guessing Jenelle had been told to keep quiet about what was really going down by MTV because she pretty much bit her tongue throughout the week. (The gag order makes sense given that the cast members are not allowed to give away anything about what is coming up on the show, from what I understand.) But this week’s episode was just too much for Jenelle and she took to Twitter to clarify how it was that she wasn’t lying about being pregnant in that scene, despite being pregnant in the Flip Cam car scene recorded earlier.

TWEETER: Why were you lying?
JENELLE: I didn’t… I really wasn’t pregnant. ?
TWEETER: lol yes you were. You’re due before chelsea so obviously you were already pregnant. Its not a big deal.
JENELLE: But I really wasn’t pregnant…
TWEETER: in the car when David was rubbing ur belly that u guess I were going to have to wear baggy sweatshirts now
JENELLE: Yeah I was pregnant then.. but not in the scene afterwards. I have documentation of everything
TWEETER: why was it in the police report? Sorry, i may have missed that part
JENELLE: Becuz I was pregnant then…
JENELLE: Here’s the deal… April of 2016 I filmed the car cam scene with David and found out at lunch from my Endo. I was pregnant…
Then coming home from lunch the car scene with David was filmed with me not remembering we were recording lol…
A week or few days later we flew out to the reunion, end of April 2016. At that time I had to go see a doctor because I thought it was The time of my month. Saw the OBGYN the Doctors show connected me with in LA. He conducted an ultrasound and told me I was not pregnant.
Once I got home from the reunion MTV came over unexpectedly to congratulate us, but sadly I wasn’t. I didn’t want to explain on camera.
Then I went to Farrah’s birthday in May and even made a post on IG how I wasn’t pregnant if you all remember. Found out I was in June.
After finding out of course I kept it a secret becuz everyone claimed I was already lying but as for my mom she tells everyone everything.
Earlier this week we shared an extensive timeline detailing how Jenelle’s pregnancies were revealed online, and after Jenelle opened up about her miscarriage in August, we did another behind-the-scenes timeline for both of her pregnancies. Using the information above, as well as culling information from both of our previous timelines, here is another one specifically geared to help everyone understand what’s happening in that scene — and in the scenes to come:
April 18ish – Jenelle finds out from her endocrinologist that she is pregnant. Soon after finding out, She and David talk about it while riding in the car — forgetting that the MTV flip cams were recording.
April 23-24 – Teen Mom 2 Reunion taping in Los Angeles. Jenelle is experiencing bleeding and meets with The Doctors‘ Dr. Peter Weiss. Jenelle is told that she is not pregnant. Apparently Jenelle was a bit confused at this point whether she actually had been pregnant at all.
April 25ish – An MTV camera crew “came over unexpectedly to congratulate” Jenelle and David, who denied that she was still pregnant (because she wasn’t). They didn’t discuss it further because they weren’t ready to talk about it on camera yet.
Late April/Early May – Jenelle has it confirmed by her endocrinologist that she was pregnant and suffered a miscarriage.
May 2-13 – According to multiple online conception calculators, based on Jenelle’s due date of January 28, she most likely conceived during this time via the “cheap” condom that burst.
May 13 – A fan photo of Jenelle at a North Carolina Target store surfaces online in which she appears to be sporting a baby bump.
May 13 – The Ashley’s Reality Roundup confirms rumors that Jenelle is currently pregnant.
May 13–August 24 – Jenelle adamantly denies being pregnant.
MAY 20 – Jenelle posts a bikini selfie (above) taken while in Miami to attend Farrah Abraham’s 25th birthday party.
JULY 6 – David Eason is involved in a minor car accident with Jenelle as the passenger.
JULY 15 – A police report surfaces from the automobile accident on July 6 in which the officer reveals that Jenelle “stated that she is at least ten weeks pregnant.” This is the police report that Barbara Evans is seen referencing in this week’s episode.
August 24 – Jenelle announces she is pregnant with a gender reveal photo shoot with David Eason.
There you have it! I have to confess that I FINALLY understand it all in regards to the confusing scene in which it certainly appears that Jenelle and David are lying about her being pregnant.
