These days, it’s uncommon when celebrities are able to go more than a week without their newborn’s name being revealed — so Edward Norton and wife Shauna Robertson deserve an award for keeping their firstborn’s name a secret for nearly two years. That was until this weekend when sources finally told Us Magazine the little guy is named Atlas.
Although Atlas is an uncommon name, Edward and Shauna certainly aren’t the only parents to bestow it on their child. According to the Social Security Administration, the name was actually the 789th most popular in 2013 — the first time it cracked the list of the top 1,000 boy names in the past 100 years. Actress Anne Heche may have contributed to its growing popularity when she named her second son Atlas in 2009.
Edward and Shauna’s Atlas was born in March 2013 and his arrival was confirmed a month later. They married the previous year after six years of dating, but the wedding wasn’t confirmed until 2013… In other words, they have a good track record of keeping big news a big secret for a while!
