What’s in the Fixer Upper book? Joanna and Chip Gaines announce surprise release of ‘The Magnolia Story’

Is there a Fixer Upper book? Where can I buy the Fixer Upper book? And what is this fabled Fixer Upper book about? These questions all became reality today, thanks to the announcement of The Magnolia Story, the first-ever official publication by Fixer Upper‘s Chip and Joanna Gaines. The announcement came in the wake of some subtle teasing on social media: a couple of days ago, we shared the news of a forthcoming Fixer Upper surprise, thanks to Joanna’s unexpected Instagram update. At the time, we thought the news might be the long-awaited Fixer Upper crossover with Property Brothers. It turns out that we should have taken Joanna’s photo of pages flipping a book a little more seriously…

So, what is the Fixer Upper book all about? Here’s the good word from Joanna and Chip themselves:

We’re so excited to announce that our FIRST book, The Magnolia Story, will be coming out on October 18, 2016! @chippergaines and I had so much fun writing this book together & getting to share some of our favorite stories about our life together. From getting married and starting our family – to taking some of the biggest risks of our lives that almost cost everything. We can’t wait to share it with you! The Fixer Upper book has its own tag on the Magnolia Market webpage, which offers a bit more information. It looks like the book’s full title is The Magnolia Story: Living Out Your Dreams, and it will be released on October 18th of this year. The press release promises a full behind-the-scenes bio:  

 

The Magnolia Story is the first book from Chip and Joanna, offering their fans a detailed look at their life together. From the very first renovation project they ever tackled together, to the project that nearly cost them everything; from the childhood memories that shaped them, to the twists and turns that led them to the life they share on the farm today.

  On a related note, Chip just shared a little behind-the-scenes trivia relating to last night’s brand-new Fixer Upper episode. If you felt hungry during this particular scene, now you know why:
