VIDEOS MUG SHOT Trey Songz arrested for assaulting Detroit police sergeant during concert meltdown

Trey Songz meltdown on Stage and arrest

Trey Songz turned into Trey Tantrumz Wednesday night in Detroit after he went over his allotted time during “The Big Show at The Joe” concert and had his microphone turned off. Trey told the audience that they threatened to silence his mic, and he proudly boasted “if a n***a cut me off, I’m going the f**k crazy, you know what I’m saying?” They did and he did, resulting in a police sergeant suffering a concussion and Trey being arrested.

Here’s a video of Trey (real name Tremaine Neverson) basically writing this post for me followed by a transcript of what he tells the crowd:

They say they’re going to cut my mic off because I’m taking too much time. I want you to know, Detroit, from the front to the back, from the left to the right, that if that happens I love you no matter what. All I want to do is give you the best show I’m capable of giving. Is that alright with you? Can I get a ‘yeah?’

If they cut me off, remember it and text whoever you want to, and tweet whoever you want to and tell everybody about it. Because if a n***a cut me off, I’m going the f**k crazy, you understand?

At this point Trey starts singing “Doooon’t do it! Doooon’t do it! Doooon’t do it! Cut me off!…”

Trey’s challenge was met and his microphone was cut off, at which point he followed through on his promise and went “the f**k crazy.”

“He was told his set was over, that he would have to get off the stage,” Detroit Police Officer Dan Donakowski told the Detroit Free Press. “At which time, he became irate and started throwing objects (from) the stage; speakers, microphones, anything he could get his hands on.”

Police approached Trey on stage and “tried to calm” him, to no avail. After one of the objects thrown by Trey reportedly hit an audience member in the head, a Detroit Police Department sergeant approached the singer to place him under arrest, at which point Trey reportedly punched the sergeant, causing a concussion.

Trey Songz arrest mug shot

Trey was initially arrested for suspicion of resisting and obstructing officers and malicious destruction of property, but later the more serious charge of felony assault on a police officer was added.

From the Detroit Free Press:

Assault on a police officer causing injury is punishable by up to four years in prison and a fine up to $5,000, and the misdemeanor charge of aggravated assault is punishable by up to a year in jail and a fine up to $1,000, according to the prosecutor’s office.

Neverson’s bond was set at $25,000 or 10%, and his next court appearance is 8:30 a.m. Jan. 5 in front of 36th District Court Judge Lydia Nance Adams.

Donakowski said the officers involved with the arrest are with the gang intelligence unit, but that it shouldn’t be inferred that gang activity was connected to the incident. He said the gang unit, like others, was assigned to the concert on a police detail.

Here are some additional video clips showing Trey Songz on stage throwing items and jumping into the crowd:
