VIDEO – Watch the Ting Tings perform ‘Shut Up and Let Me Go’ and ‘That’s Not My Name” on SNL
The night of the world premiere of international sensation Laser Cats on SNL January 16, the NBC audience also had the pleasure of watching the Grammy-nominated Ting Tings rock out two of their popular songs. If the name Ting Tings doesn’t ring a bell, a listen to “Shut Up and Let Me Go” will make you realize the Ting Tings have been in the soundtrack of our lives for over a year now. Their first album, We Started Nothing debuted May 19, 2008 and rocketing to the top of UK charts.
This British pop duo consists of Jules De Martino (drums, lead guitar, vocals, piano) and Katie White (vocals, guitar, bass drums, bass guitar, and cow bells). They’ve got a fun, energetic sound, and Katie, who’s got punk girl band roots, has a distinctive twist to her voice. They started off with “That’s Not My Name,” which was a monster chart-topper in the UK, and ended with “Shut Up and Let Me Go” which has been featured in movies and commercials in the U.S.
