VIDEO Police officer delivers Door Dash food after arresting Door Dash driver
“You’re Sherry? Alright, your DoorDash guy got arrested, so I brought your food to you.” – Tyler Williams, Arkanasas police officer
An Arkansas woman did not have to worry about asking for a refund and reordering her food after her Door Dasher got arrested because the police officer was thoughtful enough to complete the delivery.
The officer probably freaked out the DoorDash customers at first as he seemed like he was there for a more serious reason. Once he confirmed that Sherry was present at the location, he then lightened up his tone and informed her that she didn’t need to get up from her seat because he was delivering her DoorDash food.
He then jovially told them to “have a good one” and chuckled as he turned off his body cam.
The body cam video footage of the unique transaction was shared by Jonesboro Police Department on Facebook, and can be seen in the YouTube video below.
Who was the Door Dash driver? Why was the Door Dasher arrested?
The Door Dash driver who got arrested was 22-year-old Justin Gist. He was making deliveries on a suspended license and without valid car insurance. He also had a warrant out for his arrest on a previous charge.
Door Dash has responded to the incident with the following statement:
“The safety of our community is extremely important and we take reports of this nature very seriously. We have deactivated the Dasher involved and are in touch with law enforcement to support their investigation in any way we can.”
