A group of moms in Beverly Hills are advocating the usage of marijuana, going as far as to claim that the habit makes them better parents.

These really stoned housewives of Beverly Hills call themselves “Marijuana Moms” and they’re currently huffing and puffing their half-baked position to media outlets, creating quite a buzz.

53-year-old Cheryl Shuman hosts monthly dinners in which she and fellow partakers can experience a variety of different strands to discover which is their personal favorite. The ladies enlist the assistance of noted chef David Schanhals to prepare meals including chicken fried in cannabis oil, cannabis leaf salad and even marijuana milk shakes.

Here’s a video report on the all-women riders of The Pineapple Express:

All the women in the ganja-group are prescribed medicinal marijuana for various conditions. Shuman told Orange News, UK:

“All the women in the group suffer with chronic aches and pains and taking cannabis in a group setting makes it seem more socially acceptable. We’ve all come up against people who say marijuana is for dirty druggies, but we are proof you can be good parents and productive members of society and use it.”

37-year-old January Thomas, mother to 2-year-old daughter Zenna, said, “Marijuana makes me a better and more creative parent. It puts me in the moment with Zeena and stops me worrying about everyday problems.” She smokes up to five times daily while looking after her daughter and reads her books about the plant.

Simmi Dhillon, 40, sustained serious injuries in a 2003 car accident that left her with chronic pain and a reliance on prescription painkillers, until she discovered the advantages of medicinal marijuana. She told HuffPost UK:

“When I found medical marijuana my life turned around. I was 37 and I tried a joint my friend was smoking [and] for the first time in years I felt human. I was able to be the wife I wanted to be once again and it saved our marriage. Now I can talk to my 10-year-old son about drugs and be completely honest about it. Before I was like a zombie on prescription medication — now he’s got his mom back.”

What do you think about the Marijuana Moms’ claims that using the drug makes them better parents?
