VIDEO Kim Kardashian in Tyler Perry’s “Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor” trailer
You may not like it, but Kim Kardashian is without question one of the biggest celebrities on the planet, which is amazing considering she has done it all via the small screen in shows like Keeping Up With The Kardashians and Kourtney & Kim Take Miami. Butt (hee hee) now Kim is transitioning to a format more accommodating to her huge, umm, celebrity — the big screen, with a sizable speaking role in Tyler Perry’s new film Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor.
Check out the trailer released today, which features Kim quite prominently:
In the flick, due out March 29, Kim plays a Ava, an employee at a matchmaking service. (Kim Kardashian as a matchmaker? Now that would require some acting!) She stars alongside Jurnee Smollett, a marriage counselor who’s life becomes complicated when she gets involved with one of her clients. The film is based on the play of the same name which was created by Tyler Perry in 2008.
Regarding his casting of Kim in the film, director Tyler Perry explained, “She literally has millions of young people following her. I thought and still do think, that it would be very responsible of her to be a part of this film. Millions of young people adore her and are following her every move. If one of those young people see this film and find the strength to live a better life and not go through what these characters went through in this movie, then we have all done what I feel I’m being led to do here.”
This isn’t the first time Kim has landed a theatrical acting role. She’s also had bit parts in such classic blockbuster films as Disaster Movie and Deep In The Valley. Temptation will be her first straight-forward role in a major motion picture. (Tyler Perry detractors hush yo mouths!)
Meanwhile, Kim will also be returning to her home base (the E! Channel) next month in Kourtney & Kim Take Miami and again in July when Keeping Up With The Kardashians returns for it’s eighth season.
