Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore may have been separated for more than a year now, but neither party had filed any documents to put an end to their six-year marriage… until now. This morning Ashton filed for divorce from Demi at the Los Angeles Superior Court citing “irreconcilable differences.”
According to TMZ, Ashton isn’t seeking any spousal support from Demi, nor is he asking the court to deny Dami any support from him (which was reportedly an issue at first, considering Ashton brought in much more income during their marriage). Since they did not have any children together, child support and visitation will not be an issue. The couple’s property is set to be discussed at a later date.
A source close to the couple claims Ashton waited so long to file because he was giving Demi a chance to file first, but after she allegedly dragged her heels for 13 months, he opted to file himself.
Back in October of last year, Ashton had been caught in the middle of a cheating scandal with 22-year-old Sara Leal. One month later, Demi announced that they would be going their separate ways. “As a woman, a mother and a wife there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life,” Demi said at the time.
Ashton is currently in a relationship with his former That 70’s Show co-star Mila Kunis. As far as we know, Demi is still single, but she has been briefly linked to 26-year-old art dealer Vito Schnabel, son of filmmaker and artist Julian Schnabel.
