VIDEO Kim Kardashian gives Kanye West wedding control, will wed summer 2014
Despite previous reports that Kanye West and Kim Kardashian want to get married as soon as possible, the groom-to-be just revealed the wedding will be “next summer.”
Unlike many clueless grooms whose only roles in the planning process is showing up to the cake tasting, Kanye knows what he’s talking about: Kim said she hasn’t even begun to think about the ceremony and plans to leave the big decisions up to Kanye.
“It’s been such a whirlwind. We need like a moment to relax and figure it all out,” she said on Saturday. “I’m going to leave this up to him. Whatever he wants.”
Although they haven’t started brainstorming, it seems Kanye certainly has. The rapper — who planned an ultra-elaborate proposal last week — told Power 106 he’s already scheming.
“Two words: fighter jets,” Kanye said, adding he’s “gotta apologize to the race of males for turning it up so much” with his proposal.
According to Radar Online, one of the biggest wedding decisions Kanye’s already made is more of a non-decision about the wedding dress designer.
“Even though Vera Wang is one of the top wedding designers in the world, Kanye won’t have her design Kim’s gown — even if it were offered for free! She’s the only designer who is out-of-bounds,” a source said of the Kardashian family friend and designer of the dresses Kim wore when she wed Kris Humphries. “He doesn’t want any comparisons to Kim’s past wedding dresses, especially because ever since he proposed at AT&T Park, the media has been having a field day comparing his engagement ring to the one Kris Humphries gave to Kim.”
With such extravagant plans already in motion, it’s easy to feel semi-annoyed when Kanye speaks… But we’ve all got to admit the way he talks about Kim is pretty adorable.
“I wanted to marry that girl from the first time I saw her,” he told Power 106. “I just had to wait through a bunch of relationships to finally get my chance… It’s just patience. You know with certain things, you’re like, ‘Yo, this is what’s right for me, and this is what I should be doing.’ And you gotta be patient.”
