Modern Family star Jesse Tyler Ferguson took to his YouTube account yesterday to announce some huge news — he’s engaged! Jesse popped the big question to his partner of nearly two years, lawyer Justin Mikita, and he said “yes.” The pair also revealed that they have teamed up with Tie Bar to create a line of bow-ties with all proceeds helping support equal rights.
“Its official! :)” Justin tweeted earlier this morning. The video was meant to be an announcement about Jesse’s charity, but after struggling to figure out what he should call his partner and opting on “fiance,” it quickly turned into an exciting way to tell fans of his engagement.
The couple hopes that once they tie the knot, their marriage will be officially recognized nationwide, which is why they are using their platform to help help gay and lesbian organizations get the money they need to spread the word and get the job done — and what better way to do that then with a fashion statement?
According to Jesse, the pair’s bow-tie line was created by him and his now-fiance and inspired by art and other things they love, not to mention that it’s kind of his signature piece.
