VIDEO Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson says ‘homosexual offenders’ won’t ‘inherit the kingdom of God’

Phil Robertson - Whites Ferry Road Church - Homosexuality Sermon

In case Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson didn’t make his opinion of homosexuality perfectly clear last year, he clarified it during an Easter sermon at Whites Ferry Road Church in Monroe, Louisiana.

“Neither the sexually immoral, nor the idolators, nor adulterers nor male prostitutes, nor homosexual offenders, nor thieves, nor greedy, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God,” Phil preached in April.

Phil’s pertinent comments are queued up…

That was almost identical to one of Phil’s controversial comments published in GQ last December: “Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlers — they won’t inherit the kingdom of God.”

At the time, Phil also made some crass statements about male/female anatomy and “pre-entitlement” African-Americans. After the GQ story was published, A&E suspended the Duck Dynasty patriarch, leading the rest of the family to say they wouldn’t film without him. Phil was reinstated a short time later. There was a dip in ratings during the subsequent season, but it was still one of the top unscripted shows on television.

Phil’s new comments should come as no surprise, considering he refused to “back off” from his path even when his reality gig was threatened.

Phil also spoke about the GQ interview during his Easter sermon, saying the media doesn’t know much about the bible.

“You want the verse? The news media didn’t even know it was a verse! They thought I was just mouthing off,” Phil said, explaining he was referencing a verse from Corinthians during the GQ interview. “‘Is homosexual behavior a sin?,’ the guy asked me. I said, ‘Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Don’t be deceived!'”

The sixth season of Duck Dynasty is set to premiere on A&E on June 11.
