VIDEO: Conan vs. Colbert and Stewart, a dance-off for the ages
It was a dance-off for the ages on Conan O’Brien’s “The Legally Prohibited From Being Funny on Television Tour” last night at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall! It was a star-studded event and nowhere was this more apparent than when Conan threw down in an all-or-nothing dance-off with Stephen Colbert. As Def Leppard’s 80’s classic “Pour Some Sugar On Me” blared out through the PA system, Colbert and O’Brien took turns in a Zoolander like wiggle-war.
Not to be overshadowed, none other than Daily Show host Jon Stewart came out on stage mid-song to defend his Comedy Central cohort Colbert. Stewart proceeded to get his groove on in a red satin shirt, black pants and gold cummerbund. Now that’s a Jersey boy strutting his stuff! Here is the clip of the dance-off. It isn’t professionally shot, but in this instance, who cares?!?
Who do you think took the crown? For my money it was Jon Stewart by a mile with the one-legged quasi running-man.
Before the show Conan warned of the imminent awesomeness via his blog:
“Tonight’s show (as you would expect) is going to be a tightly packed powder keg of special guests, incredible surprises, and lots of killer Coco rocking action.” If you’re coming to the show tonight, you might want to have a diaper on hand – or at the very least, some smelling salts for the people around you (when they pass out from all the awesomesauce being thrown their way).”
Other stars that made appearances in the first night of Conan’s two-night stand at Radio City Music Hall included the band Vampire Weekend, Paul Rudd, Bill Hader and John Krasinski. After catching that video I think it’s going to be hard for Coco to top night one, but the guy always seems up for the challenge. The follow-up show is set for tonight at 8:00 PM EST.
