Source says Bobbi Kristina “a vegetable;” Bobby Brown disputes claim
A source close to the family of Bobbi Kristina has referred to the coma-stricken 22-year-old as “a vegetable,” touching off a wave of protest from within the family and underscoring the variety of confusing updates Bobbi Kristina’s relatives have offered on her condition.
Speaking to speculation regarding Bobbi Kristina’s vegetative state, the source said “Bobby Brown should have let her go when the family all agreed back in February.”
The source then added, “She’s a vegetable.”
Though the exact timing of the “vegetable” statement is unclear, it’s possible that this was what set off Bobbi Kristina’s aunt Leolah earlier in the week. Leolah took off on a fierce anti-Houston tirade on her Facebook page, and went so far as to say that Pat Houston can’t wait for Bobbi Kristina to die:
FYI: “In the beginning” of Bobbi Kristina being in a coma;
Ms. So-called Pat Houston, Real name: “Marion Patricia Watson Garland”, wanted so badly and had the nerve to sarcastically say to my brother Bobby, “why don’t he just pull the plug on Bobbi Kriss, because it’s costing too much money to keep her alive!” YES, Pat Garland did have that nerve to say that to Bobbi Kristina’s father Bobby. It was her, Pat Garland, the one & only who had the big balls of such an idea! Therefore, I am not surprised at what the media has said. It is evident & obvious that SOMEONE just does not want to see my niece LIVE.SMH!
At the same time, Christopher Brown, Bobby Brown’s legal counsel, issued a Friday statement in which he insisted that “Bobbi Kristina is not going to home to die.”
And Bobby Brown himself issued a separate statement–one that aimed to put to rest any doubt that he and the Houston family are still (or ever were) feuding with regard to Bobbi Kristina’s care:
I am making decisions with Pat Brown and we are working together for the medical care of my daughter. Right now we are focused on Bobbi Kristina’s medical prognosis and the criminal investigation.
Last month, an Atlanta judge ordered Bobby Brown to share guardianship of Bobbi Kristina with Pat and Cissy Houston, meaning that the three have to agree on any medical decisions regarding Bobbi Kristina. At the same time, Brown has also said he will “never” take Bobbi Kristina off of life support.
