Ryan Edwards has not been portrayed in the best light on Teen Mom. The only time we see him, he is usually yelling at or complaining about Maci Bookout, the mother of his child. Even after four seasons on the show, not much has changed, as his and Maci’s struggles to co-parent Bentley remained the central part of her storyline throughout the series.
On the latest episode, Maci planned an impromptu 3rd birthday party for their son Bentley (Bentley’s actual birthday fell on Ryan’s day with him, and the plan was for Ryan and his family to have a separate bash). Maci had Bentley call Ryan and leave a message to call back, which Ryan did the next day (the day of the party). Maci quickly handed the phone to Bentley and walked him through inviting his dad to the party scheduled that night, to which Ryan responded with surprise, “When did you plan this?!?” Then, in response to the invitation, Ryan said, “OK buddy, I’ll see what I can do for ya.” Maci then hung up.
Later, Ryan texted Maci and said he wouldn’t be able to make it to the party and he would be there after to pick Bentley up.
When he came to pick Bentley up from the party, he and Maci got into a fight and he even told her she was stupid within in earshot of Bentley, who was waiting in the car with his girlfriend, Dalis Connell. (Much against the sage advice from his parents, who told him beforehand that it was not the right time to have it out, insisting that he not be angry when he showed up to pick his son up.)
Once Maci had enough of arguing, she told Ryan she was done and headed back inside to the party, but not before Dalis got in on the action by stating, “good!” The simple comment riled up viewers, but Ryan says they’ve got it all wrong. Yesterday, he tweeted, “MTV does a shi*y job of showing what really happens in are lives! @dalispaige and @Mimijen6 are two of the best ppl in the world!”
Ryan’s girlfriend Dalis didn’t get much of a chance to prove herself on the show. Fans just met her this season and haven’t seen all that much from her other than the “good” heard ’round the world. On top of that, fans are very protective of their Maci so anyone that seems to be working against her is going to feel the heat for sure.
Fans of Teen Mom won’t get to see much more of Ryan Edwards and company. The final episode of the series airs this Tuesday night at 10/9c on MTV. Can you believe it’s almost over?
