Did Emily Maynard already cheat on her new fiance Jef Holm?

'Bachelorette' stars Emily Maynard and fiance Jef Holm on the cover of Us Weekly

Fans watched Emily Maynard fall in love with Jef Holm on the latest season of The Bachelorette. On the finale, the two became engaged and walked off in the sunset, hand-in-hand with Emily’s daughter Ricki. However, their “Happily Ever After” may be soon coming to a halt after some outrageous claims that are being backed up by Jef’s own brother.

The couple had been visiting Jef’s extended family in Pawleys Island, South Carolina, when Jef allegedly found several “explicit text messages” and photos on his fiance’s phone from another man. Jef was livid and the two had an explosive fight leading to Emily’s dramatic exit — at least that’s what Jef’s brother Mark is claiming.

“I can tell you that it’s all 100% true. I was there and I heard the fight and watched the whole thing go down, Emily leaving and everything,” Mike told Us Weekly. “I love my brother very much and, like the rest of our family, I just want him to be happy.” Regardless of what had happened, Mark exposing his brother’s relationship problems to the press seems like a somewhat questionable move. “We all love Emily, too. Mistakes happen, we all get that,” Mark adds. “I hope they can work it all out, but as far as your story goes, it’s all true.”

Emily and Jef spoke out against the rumors prior to Mark’s statement, attempting to discredit the source. “It’s one hundred percent not true,” Emily told PEOPLE. Jef added, “It’s just bogus a ‘source’ would [say] we were fighting. None of that is true.” Jef even took to Twitter, sharing a cute Instagram photo of Emily, and tweeting that even “family members” will do anything to get their name in a magazine:

It’s crazy what people will do, even family members, to see their name in a magazine.

Emily and Jef have been engaged since May. Emily was rumored to be involved with The Bachelorette‘s host Chris Harrison during filming on the show — a rumor that was further fueled by Chris’s split from his wife of 18 years!

In all actuality this is probably just a sped up version of ABC’s typical casting rehashing, with the plan being to bring Jef Holm back as The Bachelor and maybe even Emily Maynard as The Bachelorette again ala Brad Womack. ***SIGH***

Or maybe Jef’s brother just sold him out for small piece of fame. What do you think?
