REPORT LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian hiring actors to play Brandi Glanville, her sons on reality show

LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian attend the 2012 ACM Awards (Academy of Country Music Awards) at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Based on new reports, LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian’s show is sounding less like reality television and more like some strange alternate universe.

“They are going to have actors play Brandi and the kids’ characters in the show,” an insider told In Touch. “LeAnn and Eddie were so against the kids being on RHOBH that they can’t have them in this.”

LeAnn and Eddie’s reality show was officially announced by VH1 last week. It is tentatively titled LeAnn & Eddie and will “bring the truth and make fun of all the gossip.” The press release added the show will examine how the couple is co-parenting Eddie’s two sons.

As many anticipated, Brandi Glanville, Eddie’s ex-wife and mother to his sons, is determined to prevent her sons from appearing on the show.

The family has a precedent set when it comes to the young boys and reality television: Eddie and LeAnn barred the boys from appearing on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. However, the kids’ absence was much less noticeable, considering Brandi was just one cast member and the drama centered on a larger group of ladies.

In the case of LeAnn & Eddie, leaving the boys out would seem strange… But, does that really mean hiring child actors is a good solution? Makes me think of the awkward (fictional) scene in How I Met Your Mother when Barney Stinson hired actors to play his wife and son.

Do you think it makes sense for Eddie and LeAnn to hire actors for their reality show?
