HGTV’s Property Brothers squeaky-clean reputation got a little dirty today, following the publication of a tabloid report alleging that Jonathan Scott’s wife from 2007 to 2009 was dumped in favor of a Las Vegas topless dancer. The Radar report claims that Jonathan began an affair with dancer Kristin Ratori while married to fellow Canadian Kelsy Ully shortly after he and Kelsy had moved to Las Vegas.
Ully was allegedly “blindsided” when Jonathan filed for divorce just two years after the pair tied the knot. Apparently, Jonathan and Kristin dated for a year and a half in total, though it’s not clear from the report exactly when they began seeing each other relative to Jonathan’s marriage–”long before the split was finalized” is the exact wording. (Jonathan Scott’s girlfriend is currently Scott Brothers Entertainment employee Jacinta Kuznetsov. His brother Drew got engaged to long-time girlfriend Linda Phan–also a Scott Brothers employee–late last year.)
However, Jonathan and Kristin’s relationship was apparently contentious, due to Jonathan’s selfish behavior. According to the report, “Kristin was paying the majority of the mortgage” in the house the two shared, and “even paid for most of the costs of their vacations together.” This may have had something to do with Jonathan apparently telling Kristin that “his ex-wife took him for his money.”
Not long after that–around the time that Kristin is said to have “felt more like [Jonathan’s] ‘arm candy'”–Jonathan revealed that he never felt like theirs was an exclusive relationship, which is why he’d been “seeing other girls.” At that point, the two broke up.
Kelsy Ully, Kristin Ratatori, and Jonathan Scott all declined to comment for the article. Before the current besmirchery, the most damning thing to happen to either of the Property Brothers was probably the North Dakota bar fight that Jonathan got in last summer–security camera footage of which later exonerated him, proving that he hadn’t started the fight as accused.
