After causing quite a stir and prompting nearly everyone to weigh in with their opinion, “The Dress” has been 2015’s runaway viral story. The debate began over an ordinary picture of a random dress as to whether not it was gold & white or black & blue. The discussion divided families, made friends bicker, and caused couples to argue as to who was right when it came to the now famous dress.

After it was confirmed that the dress is in fact blue and black, you probably thought you were done hearing about it, right? Wrong!

A Texas man, Daniel Howland, is keeping the story alive after he decided to tattoo (yes, with permanent ink) The Dress on his leg.

The only thing to say is: WHY?!

“I pretty much got it because, I mean, I keep up with all the social memes and hysteria and whatever, and this is the only one that I really couldn’t wrap my brain around. So I just decided to do it,” he told Buzzfeed.

Daniel got The Dress tattooed on his leg by artist Nick York in their studio in Austin. Nick did the tattoo for free, and it took about 20 minutes to complete.

So what does Nick think of the tattoo? “I think it is a stupid tattoo. That’s why it’s funny. Because it’s stupid, ” adding, “It’s a joke. I didn’t know it was gonna freak people out.”

Daniel correctly colored the ink as black and blue but included the question “White and Gold?” within the tattoo.

After seeing a picture of Daniel, it’s easier to understand why he would get this tattoo. It’s not as if this is his first ink, he’s covered. For him, it probably isn’t that big of a deal.

Despite the ‘stupidity’ behind the tattoo, both Daniel and Nick agree the quality of the tattoo is on point. Daniel defended the artistry by saying, “I have an awesome tattoo on my leg. It’s just dumb.”

What do you think about Daniel’s “The Dress” tattoo?
