Elvis Presley, Kurt Cobain, Bob Marley, Janis Joplin and a handful of other rock legends are forever set in our minds as young people taken before their time. If they had lived, the first question for many is what else they would have accomplished. The second question is just what they would look like…
Florida-based Sachs Media Group and PhoJoe teamed up to create a gallery of age progression pictures to predict what the musicians’ middle-aged looks.
Jimi Hendrix:
Nov. 27, 1942 – Sept. 18, 1970. Widely hailed as rock’s greatest guitarist, who died in 1970 at age 27.
Janis Joplin:
Jan. 19, 1943 – Oct. 4, 1970. Extraordinary rock-blues singer, who died in 1970 at age 27.
Jim Morrison:
Dec. 8, 1943 – July 3, 1971. Ethereal “Lizard King” singer and songwriter for the Doors, who died in 1971 at age 27.
Bobby Darin:

‘Mama’ Cass Elliot:

Bob Marley:
Feb. 6, 1945 – May 11, 1981. Reggae music’s most influential artist, who died in 1981 at age 36.
Karen Carpenter:
March 2, 1950 – Feb. 4, 1983. Singer and drummer for the Carpenters, who died in 1983 at age 32.
Dennis Wilson: Dec. 4, 1944 – Dec. 28, 1983. Drummer for the Beach Boys, who died in 1983 at age 39.
Kurt Cobain: Feb. 20, 1967 – April 8, 1994. Guitarist/songwriter with the breakthrough grunge band Nirvana, who died in 1994 at age 27.
The Sachs Media Group’s fascinating project didn’t end with speculation about what the musicians would look like today: They also consulted with musicologists Dr. Reebee Garofalo and Elijah Wald about the projects the musicians would have pursued. Elvis, for example, “Might have branched out. Like his old Sun labelmate Johnny Cash, he might have put himself in the hands of young rock producers and revisited his blues and country roots, making stripped-down albums that would have won him a new following of young hipsters. Given his command of older pop styles, he would also have been an obvious first choice for the Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett superstar duet projects.”

OC Weekly suspected as much a few days ago (from a little Facebook sleuthing), and it's now been confirmed to People that Frances Bean Cobain is engaged to The Rambles front-man Isaiah Silva (who also bears a striking resemblance to her deceased father Kurt Cobain.) The above photo is of…
Frances Bean Cobain looks a lot like her late father Kurt Cobain, and she has lived in the shadow of his myth, but because he died when she was only 20 months old, she never really knew him. That sad fact can't be changed, but Montage of Heck director Brett…
Smells like teen jazz hands? While participating in NME's tribute to Kurt Cobain on the 20th anniversary of his death (April 5), Courtney Love indicated that she has a strong desire to put together a Broadway musical about the late Nirvana front man.
One of the most iconic musicians of all time, Bob Marley, will now be the face of the world’s first “global brand of marijuana.” Read the official press release about Marley Natural including the Marley family’s defense of the product and the investor’s belief that it will spearhead the end of marijuana prohibition in what they estimate to be a $150 billion dollar global market.

He doesn’t get arrested, but the threat of arrest for dancing provocatively leads him to strike a deal to cut his hair and join the military for a few years…
Baz Luhrmann’s telling of the Elvis Presley story in the feature film Elvis is also the story of his manager Colonel Tom Parker, played with creepy menace by Tom Hanks. During a pivotal scene towards the end, Elvis (Austin Butler,) confronts Colonel Tom Parker about hiding his past, having massive debts, and keeping Elvis in…
If you play your cards right, you could technically be in possession of two of the most famous childhood homes in music history: Eminem’s and Kurt Cobain’s. The only difference is that Eminem’s Detroit house starts bidding at $1, while Kurt Cobain’s is listed at $500,000.
When you’re one of the most influential musicians ever the accolades and dedications can be vast and, yes, sometimes weird. And so it is for Bob Marley as he has been “honored” by having a blood-sucking parasite named after him. Check out Gnathia marleyi and discover who thought this would be a good idea.
