Mandy Moore visited our friends north of the border so that eager cell phone users from Toronto could learn about her Virgin Love Button.
No not THAT button, instead it’s a new app launched by Virgin Mobile that directly deals with a problem all Facebook users have had until now. You know when someone posts something that is just so wonderful that the option to “like” just doesn’t cut it? Well now thanks to Virgin and their spokes-hottie Mandy Moore you can take it to the next level by loving it!
Speaking of loving it, how about the guy in the following photo making the most of his opportunity to experience Mandy’s button of love!
So how many people do you think Canada dude sent that photo to? I bet he posted that bad rascal to his Facebook page and sadly enough none of his friends could love it. Virgin is aiming to change that permanently. Toronto’s Metro quoted Nathan Rosenberg, chief marketing officer at Virgin Mobile Canada, as stating that:
“There’d been a rise in discussion about why there isn’t a love button on Facebook. So we polled them and 75 per cent said ‘yeah, we’d love to have a love button.”
They’ve launched a website for the movement and are even looking to meet with Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerburg to discuss adding a love option. In addition, the company is donating additional money to support the Japan relief effort for each person that shows said love via the app. Here is what Mandy had to tweet about it:
