Cardi B might be leaving Love & Hip Hop for another show, but her younger sister appears to have signed on with the VH1 mega-franchise for the long haul. But who is Hennessy, Cardi’s little sister from the Bronx? And can she fill Cardi’s shoes?
Devoteés will recall Hennessy’s first appearance on the show came last year, during LHHNY Season 6, when the two sisters talked about Cardi’s plan to marry boyfriend Tommy in the prison where he’s currently incarcerated. Since then, the younger Almanzar daughter has kept something of a low profile (or as low as someone with 200,000 Instagram followers can get), though recent posts have fans wondering whether Hennessy plans to start up her fashion design game alongside fellow new cast member Sofi Green.
The main question that Love & Hip Hop fans seem to have about Hennessey, though, is whether she can keep up with her sister’s shade game. Cardi has made a big name for herself with social media takedowns of haters, fellow cast members, celebs–basically anyone she feels deserves a stern talking-to. (In fact, her takedown of the woman who lost the part on Cardi’s new show, then said it was because Cardi is “too ratchet,” is one of her all-time best–check it out here if you haven’t seen it yet.)
Her official VH1 bio suggests that Hennessy won’t be a carbon copy of Cardi. Though she is “a fiery mix of Dominican and Trinidadian descent who has a passion for fashion and acting,” and is “always willing to help advise her sister, Hennessy is ready to let the world know she is also a force to be reckoned with on her own.”
Hennessy’s Instagram feed is definitely quieter than Cardi’s, though it’s not without the same kind of unique advice…
