The One Direction guys love their tattoos, and recently Louis Tomlinson added to his collection with a teacup on his arm. In true celebrity form, he debuted the photo on social media. So why a teacup? Some speculate it was inspired by one of his band’s latest songs.
Earlier this week, Louis posted a photo of the new work (above) on Instagram along with the caption, “You can’t go to bed…” As you can see, there are a couple of other pieces in the photo as well, but teacup is the only new addition.
And just in case you weren’t sure which young OD cutie Louis is…
The tat seems to pay homage to the band’s hit single “The Little Things” which was released at the end of last year on their album Take Me Home. In the song, Louis’ part is as follows:
You can’t go to bed without a cup of tea
Maybe that’s the reason that you talk in your sleep
And all those conversations are the secrets that I keep
Though it makes no sense to me.
The song was written by Ed Sheeran who is rumored to be dating Louis’ bandmate Harry Styles’ ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift. And speaking of Harry and tattoos, he recently got a tattoo of a clipper ship which seemed to be the same one that Taylor’s love interest in the music video “I Knew You Were Trouble” was sporting.

Louis sure seems to be a fan of, ummm, outsider tattoo art? Or perhaps folk tattoo art would be more accurate?
