PHOTO Firefighters free naked woman trapped in ex-boyfriend’s chimney

Chimney 480
Christmas is well past, but one California woman took a page from Santa’s playbook when trying to get inside the home of her ex-boyfriend. The 35-year-old ex-girlfriend of Tony Hernandez needed to see him so badly that she tried to break into his house via the chimney–only to get stuck inside the flue.

It’s not immediately clear why the woman took all of her clothes off before descending through the chimney.

According to Hernandez, he heard the woman shortly after waking up, and tried to free her himself. He used an extension cord, but in Hernandez’ own words, “It was too hard.” So, he called the fire department. And the Riverside FD really knows how to shoot the works: They sent, in total, 23 firefighters, who needed two hours to dismantle the chimney from the outside of the house in order to extract the woman. In what is sure to remain one of the most delightful euphemisms of 2015, the fire department termed its extraction of the woman a “technical rescue.”

The woman was taken to the hospital for treatment of her minor injuries. Hernandez didn’t say whether he would press charges. He did tell reporters that the woman is the mother of his three children, but, in what is also likely to remain one of the great understatements of 2015, he said he doesn’t want the woman around their progeny: “I don’t like the way she’s acting or what she’s doing. That’s not good for my kids.”
