It’s been a minute since we’ve heard anything official about Murder Chose Me Season 3, but the long wait is finally over. Four months after ordering a new season, Investigation Discovery has announced the MCM Season 3 premiere date — and revealed an interesting change for the show. (Don’t worry; it’s a good one.)
When will Murder Chose Me Season 3 premiere?
The show begins its new season on May 2nd, 2019. The date is especially significant for longtime fans: unlike previous seasons of the show, which aired on Wednesday nights, Murder Chose Me‘s new season will air on Thursdays.
Plus, the show has gotten a better time slot. It’s no longer on at 10 o’ clock; instead, Season 3 comes on at 9 PM. The two moves are a show of confidence from Investigation Discovery, based on Murder Chose Me‘s strong ratings. As we’ve written about before, Murder Chose Me has been a steady hit for ID since its 2017 premiere: Season 1 averaged 1.2 million viewers per episode, and Season 2 held steady at 1.1 million.
Those are big numbers in today’s TV landscape — for comparison’s sake, they’re not far behind what a major cable crime show like Fargo pulls in. And Murder Chose Me further benefits from airing in a whopping 170 countries worldwide.
We don’t yet have many details about the new episodes themselves, though they’ll continue to pull from Detective Rod Demery’s extensive case file. What we do know is that the show’s cast and crew continue to be absurdly greatful that they get to do what they do. Here’s Murder Chose Me star John Nicholson, who portrays Detective Demery on the show, thanking its fans immediately following the Season 3 wrap:
“I want to thank you for coming along on the ride with me,” John said. “I just feel like you guys have been so supportive. I tried my best to bring you guys along as much as I could.
