MUG SHOT Middle school teacher arrested after helping students have sex in classroom closet
Quinton Wright, of Stone Mountain GA’s “The Champion School,” has been arrested for helping his middle school students use a closet at the back of his classroom for clandestine sex.
Wright allegedly texted a number of interested students to let them know when the closet would be available, and to make sure that they understood the other students they would be having sex with were not to discuss the arrangement under any circumstances.
Wright’s web of text messages and lies came undone when one student’s mother happened upon her son’s phone. Both mother and son have kept their identities secret, but she shared her outrage with Atlanta media:
I was in a state of disbelief when I read all these messages. Basically he’s allowing the students to have sex in a storage room of his classroom….He told my son you can have it from 7:30 to like 8:30. [He asked my son] ‘Did you tell the girl what’s going to happen? That she cannot tell anybody?’ Basically, don’t tell anyone I’m allowing you to use my room.
According to the mother, Wright also sent a photograph of a calendar of the teachers’ cross-referenced schedules. There was a further text, reminding the student that Wright did not provide condoms, and those were every student’s own responsibility.
So far, Wright has been charged with four misdemeanor counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He hasn’t issued a statement, but his mother, Joyce, denied the charges vigorously.
Further charges could be forthcoming, pending the results of the police investigation.
