Leah Calvert talks about marriage problems, says she won’t ‘give up’
Two Teen Mom 2 stars are on the exact same page when it comes to their marriages: Shortly after Kailyn Lowry told Life & Style that divorce isn’t an option for her and Javi Marroquin, Leah Calvert echoed those exact words when talking about her marriage to Jeremy Calvert with InTouch.
“Divorce is not an option for us,” Leah said of her understanding with Jeremy. “I truly believe that Jeremy is the best thing that’s ever happened to me and my girls, and I really think we can overcome anything.”
During previous seasons, Leah and Jeremy struggled to agree on how to communicate when he was away for work. At one point, their argument even escalated to the point where Leah thought Jeremy was going to file for divorce. They seemed to reach an understanding during the first half of the fifth season, but appear to be contending with a different set of challenges in the new episodes.
Speaking with InTouch, Leah acknowledged the issues have pushed her and Jeremy to the edge — but they’re both determined to work through everything.
“We’ve had problems, but Jeremy and I promise each other every day that we’re never going to give up,” said the mother of three. “In the end, I feel like that’s what marriage is all about.”
Leah said it’s also helped that Jeremy finally agreed to marriage counseling, which was previously a big sticking point.
“It’s helped us to see each other’s feelings from a different point of view. We’re doing our best to fix our relationship.”
Teen Mom 2 airs on MTV on Wednesdays at 10/9c.
