Before boyfriend Cory Monteith’s drug overdose death, Lea Michele began wearing a gold necklace with his name on it, and needless to say, after he passed away, she did not take it off. Friday Lea shared a photo with her Twitter followers of a similar necklace her Glee character Rachel Berry is wearing for Cory’s character Finn for his memorial episode.

The episode will deal with Finn’s death, but creator Ryan Murphy says they decided to opt out of having Finn die from a drug overdose like Cory, a scenario they did consider. In fact, the episode will probably not reveal exactly how the character dies. “What we’re doing in the episode is we are not telling you yet, or maybe not at all, how that character died,” Murphy said. “The idea being [that] how somebody died is interesting and maybe morbid, but we say very early on in the episode, ‘This episode is about a celebration of that character’s life.’ We loved Cory and we loved Finn, and it feels like a huge loss and a huge heartache not to have either of them,” Murphy continued. “We’re trying to craft an episode that’s not just about us grieving, but about a lot of the young fans grieving.”

Lea Michele has previously said that she recorded a “beautiful & perfect” song for the episode. We’re sure keeping a dry eye while watching this episode will be impossible.

The fifth season of Glee premieres on FOX September 26, and Cory’s memorial episode airs Oct. 10.
