It’s a big news day for Real Housewives of Atlanta exes! Earlier today we shared the news that Phaedra Parks’ ex-husband Apollo Nida has been re-released from federal prison in Pennsylvania. Unfortunately, Kenya Moore’s troubled ex Matt Jordan has seemingly balanced the karma jail scales by getting arrested in Arizona after allegedly punching his girlfriend in the face in a Denny’s parking lot.
Matt (full name Matthew Jordan) was arrested in Pinal County, Arizona on Saturday and booked on multiple charges that include aggravated assault, theft, and threats/intimidation with damage to property. He was also charged with trespassing from an outstanding warrant in nearby Maricopa County from an incident in early April.
According to the police report, obtained by TMZ, the altercation was between Matt and his girlfriend Valerie Bell. Valerie alleges that “Matt punched her in the face at a Denny’s parking lot in the early hours of Saturday morning — this in the presence of a second woman, who says she witnessed it go down.” It’s important to note that Matt is a trained boxer.
In addition to allegedly punching Valerie in the face, the witness tells police that Matt also “snatched her cigarettes — including one in her mouth — and tried chucking them on the roof,” according to TMZ.
Matt’s bail was set at $3,250, and at the time of TMZ’s post a few hours ago, he was still listed as being in custody. However, I could find no record of him still being in custody on either the state or the county corrections websites at the time of this post.
Matt is scheduled for a court hearing later this week.
Fans of The Real Housewives of Atlanta are well aware of Matt’s alleged abusive behavior toward Kenya, behavior that would eventually result in her taking out a restraining order against him in March of 2017. Here is an excerpt about Kenya’s filing from Randy Ho with the AJC:
In the petition, she wrote that the stalking began May 31, 2016 after a trip to Mexico where he had allegedly kicked in a hotel door in anger. “Upon returning to Atlanta, … Respondent entered Petitioner’s residence unannounced and threw all of Petitioner’s items from her suitcase outside onto the driveway while cursing at Petition. Petitioner called 911 but Respondent fled before police arrived.”
In August, as seen on the show, Jordan “broke a garage door glass window and the rear window of [Moore’s] vehicle and [Jordan] was seen on video spray painting some of the home security cameras.”
