Former Full House star Jodie Sweetin and musician Marty Coyle are married! Actually, they’ve been married for over a year now and Jodie’s just been waiting for the perfect moment to share her news, which is apparently today. Jodie is now opening up about her Beverly Hills wedding and sharing a few intimate photos as well.
“We had wanted to keep it quiet and intimate for a while, but felt that on our first wedding anniversary, it was time to share!” Jodie reveals to People. Jodie and Marty tied the knot on March 15, 2012 after becoming engaged just over one year prior. “Our day was a wonderful, intimate celebration with each other and our families.”
The ceremony took place at the home of Marty’s friend and All Day Sucker bandmate Jordan Summers, who also officiated the ceremony. Jodie’s five-year-old daughter with ex-husband Cody Herpin, Zoie, and her and Marty’s two-and-a-half-year-old, Beatrix, both had a part in the ceremony.
Jodie and Marty previously wanted to wait to tie the knot until marriage was an option for all, but after witnessing a wedding first-hand, they had a change of heart.
“We saw that Prop 8 was going to court to argue its constitutionality (which we knew meant it would be justly repealed) at about the same time that we went to our friends Ryan and Graham LaConnor’s beautiful wedding in Palm Springs,” Marty explains, “Seeing two people whose love was so pure and enriching to all those around them affected us so deeply that we both looked at each other and said, ‘It’s time.'”
Jodie and Marty first began dating in 2009, several months after Jodie split from her husband Cody. One year later, they welcomed their first child.
