DWTS’ Maksim Chmerkovskiy slams former partner Hope Solo

Maksim Chermokovskiy and Hope Solo Together

They may have gone on public outings with matching coats and placed fourth in the 2011 round of Dancing With The Stars, but Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Hope Solo were apparently putting on an act the whole time. (WHAAAT?!) In a new interview with the Allegedly with Theo Von & Matthew Cole Weiss podcast, the pro ballroom dancer called the soccer goalie as “s**tty person.”

During the conversation — which was fueled by Dobel Tequila — Maksim was asked to play “F**K, Marry, Kill” with three of his old DWTS teammates. “I would probably marry… somebody like, Misty May-Treanor was awesome and she’s an amazing chick,” he said. “And I would definitely kill Hope Solo.”

Maksim went on to call Hope a “s**tty person,” explaining, “People can be bad or good or whatever. You can have a s**tty life growing up. You can have a tough upbringing. You can have history. You can have whatever. But, if you are just a bad person, you know what I mean? There’s no excuse for that.”

But Maksim’s ire wasn’t just reserved for Hope. He also expressed his disdain with the ABC reality show that made him famous, saying he definitely isn’t returning as a professional and was frustrated to be “heavily censored” because “Mickey Mouse was writing my checks.” After the podcast with all of that was published on Tuesday, Hope seemed to respond with some shade of her own on Twitter.

She was a bit more direct with her criticism of Maksim in her 2012 memoir, in which she said, “He manhandled me in rehearsals from the start, pushing me, whacking my stomach, bending my arms roughly.” She said producers gave her to option to get a new partner, but she didn’t want to look like a “prima donna.” Maksim responded by saying Hope’s story was “completely false.”

I guess we shouldn’t expect a DWTS reunion with these two anytime soon for multiple reasons…
