Duggar Digest: Update on Josie Duggar, Jill Dillard is criticized for baby wearing and more
On tonight’s 19 Kids and Counting, Jill Dillard begins to set up her baby’s nursery while the younger Duggar daughters rearrange their rooms.
On a much more serious note, younger daughter Josie Duggar has a medical emergency. In a preview clip for the season, Jana Duggar explained Josie “seized 15 minutes before the paramedics got into the house and then kept seizing the whole way” to the hospital. So, how is Josie doing now?
Fortunately, it seems Josie is doing great after the harrowing incident, which likely occurred last November or December. In a post from earlier this month, the family said that, like most 5 years olds, Josie loves to sing and eat macaroni and cheese. She also keeps up with her older sisters.
Jill Dillard is criticized for baby wearing.
Last week, Jill sparked some negative comments for bringing her infant son down to Texas for a huge conference with her family. This week, there’s new controversy because of how she was pictured carrying baby Israel at the event…
When the photo was posted on the “Duggar Family News: Life is not all pickles and hairspray” Facebook page, several commenters expressed concern for Israel’s safety.
“If memory serves, several infants died being carried like that,” one said.
When some others suggested that was the only comfortable way for Jill to carry Israel, another said that doesn’t matter when he’s at risk. That person added, “It doesn’t matter what she’s doing or why, it’s unsafe and not how you baby wear!”
As instructional pictures show, the proper way to carry a baby in a sling is with the baby situated above the wearer’s belly button and with the baby’s face “close enough to kiss.”
The Duggars are featured in People‘s Most Beautiful.
The oldest Duggar daughters and mom Michelle were treated to a makeover courtesy of People Magazine for the recent Most Beautiful edition. Although they all seemed very pleased with the results, Michelle said on Facebook they try not to put too much emphasis on looks: “We think they are beautiful but most important to us is their internal beauty. Character matters most. We are thankful for daughters who love the Lord and choose to follow Him wholeheartedly.”
