Drew Barrymore defends her ‘fatter’ arms
Drew Barrymore, a new mom of two daughters, has a message for women who find themselves constantly striving for a different type of body: Look for joy in what you do have and accept that “nobody gets to have it all.”
Speaking with Redbook, the Blended actress said she used to get hung up on perceived body flaws.
“I would love to have long, thin arms. I really would — but I don’t,” said Drew, who welcomed her second daughter in April. “I can run a company, so maybe I am just going to have fatter arms and run a company wearing sleeves? That is my balance.”
The Flower Beauty executive added she would take her busy, imperfect life over the alternative any day.
“Not that running a company is the key to happiness, but while I may not be tall and thin, I am capable.”
She said her relationship with husband Will Kopelman’s also helped her realize men look for more than a supermodel’s figure.
“Will [being with me], it does surprise me and it doesn’t surprise me,” she said. “However, knowing his personality and what he finds humorous and attractive and appealing, I’m like, ‘Okay, got it!'”
