Doctors convince judge to extend psychiatric hold for Amanda Bynes
Amanda Bynes had her psychiatric hold extended yesterday by a judge at the behest of her doctors.
Bynes has been in a psychiatric facility for 17 days following a series of strange incidents including shoplifting and bizarre tweets. She would have been able to walk out yesterday but a judge extended her involuntary commitment to the facility another 30 days.
Amanda’s doctors argued that the 28-year-old was “very ill” and in no shape to care for herself.
It’s unknown at this time if her parents will seek the court to grant them conservatorship. She currently is believed to be embittered towards her mom and dad for having her committed – making things even more difficult for them to try to keep her safe from herself if they were given control.
