Former child star Amanda Bynes had a rough year in 2012. She was arrested for DUI and allegedly involved in a few hit-and-runs. Since moving to New York, the 27 year old has managed to stay out of legal trouble, but there has been a seemingly endless stream of reports about her odd behavior. According to Amanda, those reports are all lies, and she wants everyone to know that she is completely non-erratic and non-crazy.
“I have no clue [why people say I’m insane]. Every time I’ve heard it, it came from an ugly person’s mouth, so I don’t care,” Amanda reveals to In Touch Weekly. “The only ones lying about me having a mental illness are people I don’t talk to.”
Naturally, Amanda has chosen to avoid the “ugly” people who are calling her crazy and instead surrounds herself with pretty, supportive people. “I only have hot friends. They have my back until I die,” she reasons.
As for the rumors that Amanda is using drugs, she says they are also lies. “I don’t drink. I’m allergic to alcohol,” Amanda explains, adding that despite photos of her smoking what looked to be marijuana, she only smokes tobacco.
Amanda, who retired last year, doesn’t have any plans to get back on the big screen, but she does want to get back into showbiz. “I’ll design clothes and sing because I want to, not because I need the money. I love singing and I can’t wait to start working on an album.”
