Conan O’Brien announces comedy tour! Complete list of cities and dates

Ousted late night host Conan O’Brien got a huge settlement from NBC as part of his controversial departure from The Tonight Show, and part of that huge settlement was a clause prohibiting Conan from performing on television again until after September 1, 2010. But, there is nothing in the contract preventing CoCo from doing live appearances, as evidenced by O’Brien’s official announcement today of a North American tour starting April 12 in Eugene, Oregon and finishing up June 14 at the Fox Theater in Atlanta.

In true O’Brien dry wit fashion, the tour will be called “The Legally Prohibited from Being Funny on Television Tour.” Conan the Har-dee-har-harbarian talked about the comedy concerts in a release: “It was either a massive 30-city tour or start helping out around the house,” and that each performance would be “a night of music, comedy, hugging, and the occasional awkward silence.” Sadly, you actually have to pay money to see Conan perform now, with tickets reportedly starting at $39.50.

CoCo will have some of his usual partners in comedy crime like sidekick Andy Richter as well as members of the Max Weinberg 7. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at TicketMaster.com.

UPDATE – More dates added included second nights in Vancouver, Seattle, San Francisco, Universal City Chicago, New York City and Boston! TMZ is reporting that Conan won’t be receiving any money from the tour and that it was done in large part to provide work for his staffers from The Tonight Show.
