Carrie Fisher dies after heart attack at the age of 60
A family spokesperson has confirmed that Carrie Fisher has died. The 60-year-old actress passed away Tuesday morning after suffering a massive heart attack while traveling aboard an airplane from London to Los Angeles.
According to TMZ, Carrie suffered the heart attack just 15 minutes before landing at LAX after traveling to Europe as part of a publicity tour to promote her new book The Princess Diarist. One of the passengers on the plane was an EMT and performed CPR on Carrie, but passenger later told TMZ that after landing, Carrie appeared lifeless.
Carrie was rushed to the UCLA Medical Center ICU and her family has said in statements that she was in “stable condition,” but TMZ’s sources say she remained unresponsive.
Carrie is survived by her 24-year-old daughter Billie Lourde.
