Why was Buffy actor Nicholas Brendon arrested again–for the third time in 2015? This time, it was reportedly for choking his girlfriend during an argument. The 44-year-old is being held on three separate charges.
According to the Saratoga Springs Police Department, Brendon’s girlfriend went to his hotel room to “return property to Brendon.” The girlfriend then “told him she intended to leave [the relationship]”–which was when Brendon objected, took the girlfriend’s car keys from her, and, after she attempted to call for help, threw her phone into the street.
“It sounds like it went downhill from there,” said Lieutenant Bob Jillson. “He allegedly grabbed her by the throat and started choking her.”
Brendon was not in the hotel room when officers arrived, but was found and arrested down the street.
According to Jillson, alcohol was involved.
Brendon is being held on three separate charges: criminal mischief; obstruction of breathing; and robbery.
It’s the third recent arrest for the Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Criminal Minds star. He was arrested last October for destroying private property and resisting arrest in Idaho. Then, this past April, police in Tallahassee arrested Brendon for failing to comply with the pre-release terms of an even earlier arrest.
