BREAKING Bobbi Kristina moved to hospice care; family says “her condition has continued to deteriorate”
Bobbi Kristina’s family has moved the 22-year-old into hospice care, Pat Houston announced in a statement today.
“Despite the great medical care at numerous facilities, [Bobbi Kristina’s] condition has continued to deteriorate,” Houston said. “As of today, she has been moved into hospice care. We thank everyone for their support and prayers. She is in God’s hands now.”
Bobbi Kristina was discovered unconscious in her bathtub on January 31st. She has been in a medically induced coma since early February. She was moved out of intensive care at Emory University nearly two months ago, and into a rehabilitation clinic in DeKalb County; there have been no updates on Bobbi Kristina’s location, and no official updates on her condition, since then.
There has, however, been a great deal of speculation and uncertainty about her condition, in part because no doctors have commented on it since February. Family members have made an assortment of statements about well-wishes and prayers, and there have been at least two reports that the family intended to bring Bobbi Kristina back to her Roswell townhouse.
UPDATE (5:02 PM): Sources are reporting that Bobbi Kristina’s family saw a brain specialist in Chicago last week, and got an especially grim prognosis. The specialist told the family that there was “no hope” of Bobbi Kristina regaining consciousness.
Upon receiving that information, the whole family discussed the matter, and decided to remove Bobbi Kristina from all life support–including medications–and simply make her as comfortable as possible.
