Did Waka cheat on Tammy Rivera? Now that the Love and Hip Hop Atlanta stars’ divorce has been confirmed by both parties, fans are wondering about what, exactly, led to the split. Tammy first let out news of the separation on social media just a few weeks ago; shortly after that, it was alleged that Waka’s “cheating ways” were behind things. Specifically, Simone Patton, Waka’s reported side-piece, came forward to announce her role in the split, and to apologize to Tammy for causing such strife. (Though Simone also made her apology public, sharing it in an Instagram post instead of speaking to Tammy directly.)
Waka didn’t comment on Simone’s allegations, but Tammy shot them down straightaway, saying that neither she nor Waka had been unfaithful, and that their divorce was for private reasons. “Me and Waka separation,” Tammy said, on Instagram, “had nothing to do with ANYONE! Waka did not leave me for ANYONE lol. We made a mutual decision that we needed to separate, Sometime ppl use other people’s lives to prey off and get attention…Waka is a Great man and father to my child, we all make mistakes and learn from them. BUT PLEASE don’t listen to these attention seekers.”
However, Waka might be less concerned with saving face for his wife’s benefit, as a recent exchange with a fan proved:
In response to the “Did Waka cheat on Tammy Rivera” question, Waka himself said “No I wasn’t faithful and I regret everything I’ve done to Tammy. I pray the most high give me strength to be a better husband and role model.”
Then, for good measure, he added, “B!tch people like you make me smile everyday.”
It should be noted that Tammy’s original response appeared to address the specific possibility of Waka leaving her for another woman, and not that he had never been with another woman at all.
Love and Hip Hop Atlanta Season 5 continues Monday nights at 8 PM on VH1. The network has yet to announce when we should expect the reunion special, but it ought to be a doozy.
