Brandi Glanville and LeAnn Rimes just can’t seem to get along, and why should they? In 2009, LeAnn began having an affair with Brandi’s then-husband Eddie Cibrian which eventually led to Eddie divorcing Brandi and marrying LeAnn. Since then, the ladies have had their moments of being cordial, but for the most part they’ve been embroiled in one of the most publicized celebrity feuds of the last decade. For those of you who missed out on the virtual catfight, or for those wanting to refresh your memories of what happened when, we’ve put together a detailed timeline of the highs and lows of Brandi vs. LeAnn.
May 12, 2001: Brandi Glanville marries Eddie Cibrian in Laguna Niguel, California. (Click here for a wedding photo and more background info on Brandi Glanville) Brandi and Eddie would go on to have two sons together, Mason Edward (born June, 2003) and Jake Austin (born on April 5, 2007).
Early 2009: Rumors surface that Eddie Cibrian is having an affair with LeAnn Rimes after the two met on set of the Lifetime movie Northern Lights. LeAnn is married to Dean Shermet at the time.
July 2009: Brandi Glanville and Eddie Cibrian separate.
August 2009: LeAnn and Eddie go public with their new relationship.
August 24, 2009: Eddie files for divorce from Brandi citing irreconcilable differences.
September 2009: LeAnn announces plans to divorce.
June 19, 2010: LeAnn’s divorce from Dean is finalized. LeAnn tells press, “I take responsibility for everything I’ve done. I hate that people got hurt…But I don’t regret the outcome.”
September 30, 2010: Brandi and Eddie’s divorce is finalized.
December 27, 2010: Eddie’s engagement to LeAnn is announced.
March 20, 2011: Brandi took to Twitter to announce the end of her feud with Brandi. She wrote, “As a collective unit, Brandi and I would like all negativity to cease toward one another. We have communicated and have a direct understanding that we are only ourselves on Twitter and have no other accounts that try to destroy one another. Please for our families’ sake stop the hate now and let us live our lives. We don’t need opinions or outside help in order for that to happen.” Brandi re-tweeted the message.
April 19, 2011: LeAnn and Brandi are spotted together at Brandi’s son’s birthday.
April 22, 2011: Eddie and LeAnn wed.
April 25, 2011: Rumors surface that LeAnn is trying to copy Brandi after similar Twitter photos are posted.
May 6, 2011: Eddie prepares to go to court to keep Brandi’s children from appearing on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
July 26, 2011: Brandi accuses Eddie of sending her harassing emails.
November 25, 2011: Brandi claims to have gotten a threatening email from her husband. When asked to respond to the ordeal, LeAnn said, “Until private, family matters can stay that way we cannot communicate properly and through a public forum is not the way. I have fallen short myself out of anger, but for the kids sake only try to share happiness. It’s no one’s business, our family business and since you will not hear both sides of the story no one should jump to conclusions. I do not know what has been said except for what I just read, but it’s far from the truth, I will say that.”
December 10, 2011: Brandi and LeAnn attended one of Brandi’s children’s soccer games along with Eddie. Brandi remained civil, even when LeAnn and Eddie made out beside her.
May 14, 2012: Brandi admits to Australia’s NW HQ Magazine that she once thought she’d “kill” LeAnn, but later told E! News, “Every mother has those protective mother-bear feelings, but I obviously didn’t want to kill her,” she said. “It was a figure of speech.”
May 17, 2012: Just three days after Brandi’s “kill” comments, LeAnn takes to Twitter and posts photographs of herself at the shooting range.
June 2012: LeAnn reaches out to Brandi on Twitter. She wrote, “Had to share his luau fabulousness!!!! Mom and he are gonna rock out today. @brandiglanville have Fun!”
June 18, 2012: LeAnn presents Eddie with a birthday cake which features the two of them in bed together with Brandi’s kids sitting below.
August 29, 2012: LeAnn enters treatment for anxiety and stress.
August 2012: Teacher Kimberly Smiley records a phone conversation with LeAnn after LeAnn calls her and confronts her about unfollowing her on Twitter. Once the audio tape is released online, LeAnn announces that she is suing Smiley. In part of the clip, Smiley is heard asking LeAnn what Brandi has done. LeAnn’s reply? “She’s vindictive as f***ing sh!t. Don’t tell me that’s okay.”
August 30, 2012: Brandi releases a statement to Us Weekly regarding LeAnn’s decision to enter treatment. “I totally support LeAnn’s decision to enter rehab — my top priority is my children, and at the end of the day we are a family,” she said. “LeAnn is their stepmom, and they love her. I am wishing her all the best and I hope she will find what she is looking for while in rehab.”
September 12, 2012: More information regarding LeAnn’s Twitter feuding is released including a few mean tweets from what some say were Brandi supporters. Once Brandi gets word of the tweets, she writes, “I saw some of the nasty tweets sent to LR they were MEAN but NOTHING compared 2 the ones her paid employees sent me for over 2 yrs.” She also added the hash tag “hypocrite.”
October 23, 2012: Brandi admits that her relationship with LeAnn “is not great.”
October 25, 2012: LeAnn opens up about her affair with Eddie on Katie Couric’s talk show. “I wouldn’t wish it on anyone…especially in the public eye to go through all of it,” she said. “I made my choices, you know? I made my choices and I’m living with them. And I also have learned from them and I’ve talked about this so much. But I know that…I’m not the only person that goes through this. There’s so many that do.”
October 31, 2012: LeAnn posts a photo of herself with Eddie and Brandi’s son’s with the caption, “Family of the Grease days.”
November 1, 2012: Brandi tweets, “So I may not appreciate @LeAnnRimes posting pics of my boys saying ‘family halloween’ but I don’t think she meant any harm by her costume!”
November 5, 2012: Brandi tells Access Hollywood, “I have issues from time to time. I feel like there’s still this, ‘I got your family.'”
November 11, 2012: Brandi reveals that she is no longer speaking to LeAnn and is devastated that she is suing two of her fans. “I want the lawsuit to go away,” she said. “It is not going to end up good for anyone. I want LeAnn to be fine. And to be happy. Just take my husband and go away.”
November 12, 2012: Brandi appears on Watch What Happens Live. When a caller asked if Brandi was jealous of her now that she’s famous, Brandi replied, “I think that she was jealous of me before anyone knew who I was.”
November 13, 2012: Brandi appears on The Wendy Williams Show where she addresses her ongoing feud with LeAnn. “We have ups and downs. It’s difficult,” Brandi said. “She doesn’t have boundaries, and I wish she did. I wish she were a little more respectful with tweeting pictures of my kids in their Halloween costumes when I don’t get to see them on Halloween. I feel like send me the pictures, let’s all parent together.”
November 30, 2012: The feud reignites! LeAnn took to Twitter of November 30 to announce plans with Brandi’s sons. “Flying out with my boys in a few hrs. Love that it’s a family tour weekend. It’s always more fun when they are with me,” she wrote. The next day, Brandi wrote, “Someone is trying 2 get under my skin by calling MY children “her boys” Sooo transparent! They R MY boys, Eddie Boys and ur step-sons… 4 now.” Ouch.
December 5, 2012: KABOOM! Brandi Glanville speaks with Us Weekly and reveals LeAnn Rimes has a “severe eating disorder,” is “unstable” and has laxatives in every purse – some of which was eaten by Brandi’s son Mason thinking it was candy, resulting in him getting “extremely ill!”
December 5, 2012: Eddie Cibrian enters the fray by sharing an email to Brandi Glanville with Radar Online.
December 6, 2012: Brandi Glanville responds to Eddie Cibrian’s email with her own email. In addition to calling LeAnn Rimes a “country c***” Brandi says she is addicted to laxatives and Adderall and much, much more! Brandi would soon delete the tweet and email and issue a sort of apology for posting it in the first place.
December 8, 2012: Things shift gears as the feud goes from outward aggression to the solicitation of sympathy. Brandi reveals to In Touch that she will be having surgery to remove a non-cancerous tumor in her breast.
December 9, 2012: LeAnn Rimes does an interview with E!’s Giuliana Rancic in which she gets emotional and breaks down as she talks about her affair with Eddie Cibrian and the fallout since.
