Anyone who has watched Teen Mom 2 knows Leah Calvert and Corey Simms’ daughter Aliannah has had to deal with all sorts of medical issues and tests — quite the load for a 2-year-old! (Not to mention her family!) Fortunately, after a couple of years of tender loving care, Ali has remained strong and is now doing better than ever. Just a couple of months after her twin sister Aleeah began walking, Ali is taking her first steps!
Leah, who recently married Jeremy Calvert, posted the video above of the happy event last night and has already received tons of congratulatory messages from Teen Mom 2 fans and her family.
Ali’s daddy Corey exclaimed, “I am so proud of my Ali girl! I love her so much!” Corey’s dad and Ali’s grandfather, Jeff Simms, was also thrilled. “I am sitting here crying after watching a video of Aliannah taking some steps. I cannot find words to describe how I feel. #prayersanswered,” he tweeted. He followed that up later by writing, “Aliannah Hope Simms has worked so hard to walk, she never quit trying. The Lord answered many prayers tonight, please continue 2 pray 4 her!”
Leah’s Teen Mom 2 co-star Chelsea Houska tweeted her thoughts as well. “YAY girl! I’m sooooo happy! that is amazing 🙂 xoxxx”
The video showed Ali taking several steps to her mother and then falling into her lap. It was only a few seconds long, but the progress Ali has made is absolutely priceless.
And speaking of Ali’s progress and priceless, here she is being a little goofy posing for a family portrait with mom and her sister Aleeah:
As fans of the show witnessed, Leah and Corey once feared that baby Ali might never walk, so this day comes as a great relief. It’s been a hard road getting here but Ali is progressing so well, and she’s due to be caught up with Aleeah in no time! Leah tweeted, “Ali is tickled pink and now she knows she can do it so she wants to continue to walk. Being a mom is the best thing god has made me! #HAPPY”
Ali and Aleeah are going to running together before you know it! Now that’s a happy ending.
