Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne’s 26-year-old son, who recently became a father, has been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. He reportedly found out after he’s already lost 60% of his vision in his right eye.
Two weeks ago he became a dad when long-time girlfriend Lisa Stelly gave birth to daughter Pearl Clementine (pictured above.)
The new dad gave a candid interview to People Magazine about his diagnosis: “I was just angry and frustrated and kept thinking, “Why now?” I’ve got a family and that’s what’s supposed to be the most important thing.”
Multiple sclerosis, or MS, affects every person who has it differently, but it is a disease of the brain and spinal cord, or central nervous system. The next issue of People promises to have more details about Jack’s health and how he and his family are coping with the diagnosis.
There is no cure for MS, but there are treatments and lifestyle changes to help alleviate symptoms. Montel Williams also has MS, and recently talked to magazine Reality Weekly about how his diet and exercise regime help him ward off symptoms. (*This is in no way health advice from Montel or us. MS is the result of damage of the sheaths that cover the nerves done by the body’s own autoimmune system. Symptoms differ between people because the kind and severity of the damage is different with every person. Most cases are diagnosed, as in Jack’s case, between the ages of 20 and 40.
