Teen Mom 2 Leah Messer and Corey Simms are reportedly officially divorced

Leah messer and Corey Simms Wedding - 2Teen Mom 2’s Leah Messer and Corey Simms are officially divorced, at least according to Hollywood Life, which claims in the opening sentence of a story about Leah going back to Robbie Kidd (from US Weekly), that the divorce was finalized June 21, 2011.

Leah filed papers for the divorce the second week of April, 2011 (six months after their wedding), so it seems like a plausible timeline for the divorce to be official by now, but right now all the evidence we have of this particular date is the above story, none of which has been confirmed.

It is of interest to note that the day before the supposedly divorce date, this bit of wisdom appeared on Leah’s Official Facebook fanpage:

Forgiving does not erase the bitter past. A healed memory is not a deleted memory. Instead, forgiving what we cannot forget creates a new way to remember. We change the memory of our past into a hope for our future.

As for the custody of the twins, that’s still up in the air. A vague (and unverified) report from Teen Mom Talk claims Leah has custody of the girls, but there is no mention if Corey has even part custody (there is also no mention of where this information comes from.)

Throughout all the drama of Leah and Corey’s relationship, Corey has seemed pretty attached to their twin girls Aliannah and Aleeah, but has oddly shied away from tasks related to their direct care (diaper changes, feedings, etc.) Because of this, Leah has on camera expressed that she felt wary about leaving the girls with Corey alone. This type of hands-on care is especially important with Aliannah’s health concerns. Considering all this indirect evidence, it does seem plausible she was granted full custody, and Corey gets visitation.
