American Idol winner Scotty McCreery robbed at gunpoint
American Idol winner Scotty McCreery was just an unlucky college student early this morning when he and friends from North Carolina State University were robbed.
According to police in Raleigh, North Carolina, three armed people entered the home Scotty was visiting at 2 a.m. on Monday. The robbers allegedly took wallets, cash and electronic items — or, as the person who called 911 to described it, “everything we have.”
Neighbors who spoke with WTVD said they heard commotion during the night, but thought it was just “a bunch of college students partying.”
“All you heard was yelling like ‘Who are you? What are you doing here? ‘ for a good five minutes. It was just yelling,” the neighbor said.
The resident who placed the 911 call told the operator the robbers demanded they all get down and count to 100 before they could get up. The residents and Scotty complied. No one was injured. Police are searching for the robbers.
Scotty is scheduled to begin a summer tour this Friday before returning to NC State in the fall for his junior year.
