Dateline ‘In Broad Daylight’: The Murder of Lynn Schockner
Tonight’s Dateline tells the story of a 2004 murder that chillingly took place while there were cops on the victim’s porch. Lynn Schockner’s millionaire husband Manfred Schockner hired a hitman to kill his estranged wife because he feared losing $7 million in their divorce.
Frankie Jaramillo, who knew Manfred from the gym, was paid $50,000 to kill Lynn. Jaramillo outsourced the job to bodybuilder Nicholas Harvey for only $5,000. The day Harvey approached her house, concerned neighbors called the police. At least six police officers arrived on the scene, and woke Lynn up. After she greeted the officers, they asked if they could get into the backyard. She went inside her house to get them a key to her side gate, but never came out. Within two minutes, she was dead.
Harvey was caught trying to jump over the gate with some of Lynn’s costume jewelry, and Lynn’s body was found inside the house, just inches from the keys to her gate.
Both Jaramillo and Harvey were sentenced to life in prison for first-degree murder. In 2007 Manfred Schockner was convicted of first degree murder, and sentenced to life without parole.
