16 & Pregnant’s Jordan Cashmyer gives birth to 2nd child, daughter Lyla

Jordan Cashmyer baby number 2 2

16 and Pregnant mom Jordan Cashmyer gave birth to her second child this week. Making the baby news even better is the fact that the troubled reality star is currently more than one-year sober!

We will start with the baby news. Jordan gave birth to her daughter Lyla at a Baltimore area hospital on June 20. Jordan’s dad Dennis made the official announcement on Facebook on Father’s Day. “We just received wonderful news!! She’s Here! So happy today!” Dennis wrote on Sunday.

The following day, Dennis posted a photo holding Lyla and provided an update with the caption. “I got to see my beautiful granddaughter today. I am so happy! She’s healthy and beautiful,” he wrote. A commenter asked how Jordan was doing, and Dennis replied by revealing Jordan was doing “great.”

Later on Monday, Dennis updated with a full gallery of images that included Lyla and Jordan. “Our Sweet Lyla!” he wrote, adding a red heart emoji.

The photo above is from that gallery. Here are a couple more pictures of Lyla:

Dennis made a few more posts about Lyla this week, including additional photos, but he didn’t provide any more details. News of Lyla’s arrival was shared by the Teen Mom and 16 and Pregnant Facebook group, and later by The Ashley’s Reality Roundup.

Who is the father of Jordan Cashmyer’s daughter?

Lyla’s dad is named Michael, and he looks to be a 30-year-old native of the Baltimore area. Michael wasn’t included in any of Dennis’s photos of Lyla, but he keeps a very low profile on social media so I am guessing that Michael simply didn’t want his photos shared.

Despite Michael’s low profile on social media, we do have the black-and-white photo of him with Jordan above thanks to Jordan’s Facebook page. We also have a photo of Jordan and Michael together as part of a pregnancy announcement shoot in which you can see Jordan showing off her baby bump:

Jordan’s sobriety

As mentioned above, the news of Jordan having a second child is made so much better by the fact that she is almost 18 months sober! A friend of Jordan’s posted a flyer in January with details about Jordan’s one-year sobriety celebration being held on January 29.

Jordan shared the flyer on her wall along with this appreciative message:

My wonderful homegroup member made this awesome announcement for Friday, so for anyone who isn’t part of the right turn alumni page, here is the information for my anniversary.

If you haven’t been keeping up with Jordan, I will put together a brief recap of what has happened since she was on MTV. Jordan Cashmyer and her daughter Genevieve’s father Derek Taylor were homeless in Baltimore during taping of their episode of 16 and Pregnant in 2014. Things didn’t get any better for Jordan after.

The young mom was hospitalized after expressing suicidal thoughts not long after the episode aired, and she later checked herself into a rehabilitation facility to help with her alcohol and drug addictions.

In July of 2017 it was revealed that Jordan was advertising herself on multiple escort websites in the Baltimore area, and she was soon after reported missing by her rather unstable mother Kari — a claim that Jordan would later deny. “I am currently working on myself and my recovery, and am actually very happy with my life right now,” she revealed.

Jordan has maintained a very low public profile over the past few years. She did share photos of a couple of two older men that she was in relationships with, but it appears as though neither of those worked out.

Court records indicate that Jordan was arrested for a drug-related charge(s) in early August of 2019. She later pleaded guilty to misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia on November 13 of 2019. That timeline would seem to line up with Jordan entering the rehabilitation program in late January of 2020, and then celebrating her one-year anniversary earlier this year.

We sincerely wish Jordan and Lyla all the best! We will keep an eye out and update the post if we find out any more information.

UPDATE – We have sad news to report as Jordan Cashmyer passed away in January of 2022. Lyla’s father Michael died just four months earlier in September of 2021.
