Did Johnny Depp stop a robbery as Captain Jack Sparrow?

Without notice Johnny Depp was unexpectedly cast in another Pirate sequel “Pirates of The Carrobbean” yesterday outside of a recording studio in Los Angeles.  The 46 year old perennial sexiest man alive contender was with British singer Stephen Jones of the band Babybird when Jones was accosted by a mugger with a broken bottle looking for cash.

According to The Sun it was in this scary moment that Depp flashed his heroic side and stepped into save the day, Jack Sparrow style.  The Sun’s source stated:

“It was an extremely scary moment. This guy looked off his head.  Johnny looked him straight in the eyes and told him to back off.  The guy was OK.  He looked at Johnny and said, ‘I ain’t stealing from Captain Jack.’  Johnny gave him a few bucks and told him to straighten up his life.”

Arrrgh Matey!  Apparently being a recognizable a-list actor can get you out of more than a speeding ticket or a free dinner, you can earn pirate street cred and stare down would be muggers.  Always being a fan of the more obscure stuff I probably would have said something like:

“Hey man I ain’t squeezing the juice from Gilbert Grape baby.”  or “Hey man I can’t make this jump on 21 Jump Street.” or “I sure ain’t starting no fiasco with Donnie Brasco.”

But remember it is always easier to think of these things after the fact.  Depp was at the recording studio laying down a guitar solo (yeah he does that to) for Stephen Jones and Babybird.  Depp has had a long relationship with the band.  Here is a video that Depp directed for their song “Unloveable.”

Johnny Depp saves the day, Hollywood script writers are already working on it.  Now straighten up your life.
