It’s Duggar Wedding Weekend! On Saturday, Jill Duggar will become the first 19 Kids and Counting daughter to tie the knot when she weds fiancé Derick Dillard.

According to insiders, Jill and Derick are set to marry in front of potentially 1,000 guests at a local mega-church. The Original Duggar Family Blog confirms Jill and Derick will also have an appropriately large wedding party…

Flower Girls Jennifer Duggar, Jordyn-Grace Duggar, Josie Duggar and Mackynzie Duggar
Ringbearers Jackson Duggar and Michael Duggar

We don’t know too much more about a possible theme or style. Although, if the bridesmaids’ flowers are any indication, Jill picked a romantic, muted color set.

Jill also went with a classic French manicure during the Duggar ladies’ trip to the nail salon this week…

Some locals have shared pictures of the family with filming crew — as if there was any doubt the wedding would be documented for TLC. (The real question is when it will air. I’m still hoping for a summertime special!)

Of course, as fun as wedding prep can be, planning for the actual marriage is even more important. In a new blog post, mom Michelle Duggar explained what she’s told Jill to help her make the transition from fiancée to wife…

“Be available, and not just available, but be joyfully available for him. Smile and be willing to say, ‘Yes, sweetie I am here for you,’ no matter what, even though you may be exhausted and big pregnant and you may not feel like he feels,” Michelle said, explaining that was the best advice she ever received. “I’m still here for you and I’m going to meet that need because I know it’s a need for you.”

Michelle said she’s also advised Jill to keep any disagreements private, both from outsiders and their own children. Her final tip is to ask for marriage help when it’s needed.

“Feel free to go to that trusted wise counsel that you both respect and get counsel when you need it. We have all been there,” Michelle said. “Yes, we have a oneness with spirit in Christ, but there are times that we need others to give us life counsel. So be willing to go seek it together.”

She’s also prepared a “little bridal package” of things that will help Jill on her honeymoon, although she admitted “Jill is very understanding of a lot of things because she’s a midwife and she’s helped a lot of mothers.”
