Mackenzie Douthit and her boyfriend Josh McKee seemed to be the perfect All-American when they appeared on the fourth season of MTV’s 16 & Pregnant . Sure, they sometimes bickered over Josh’s sport of choice (bull riding), but they seemed to have everything together otherwise and even became engaged months later. Now, a year later, things seem to have taken a turn for the worse.
Yesterday morning, Mackenzie tweeted, “Got my band:) #drummer #son #guitar #boyfriend #family #love” along with a photo (below) of Josh and their son. In addition to fans noticing how adorable the photo was, they also noticed that she had referred to Josh as her boyfriend, not as her fiance.
So, the rumored Teen Mom 3 star took to Twitter once more to explain herself. She wrote, “Yes, Josh is just my boyfriend. We got rid of the ring for it had too many bad memories. Starting over and doing things right.”
Mackenzie hasn’t elaborated on what exactly caused them to do away with the engagement but if she appears on the upcoming Teen Mom 3, we’re sure to find out. In fact, her not giving a reason could be because of her contract with MTV. However, they probably wouldn’t have wanted her to reveal that they called it off if it were something that was going to be featured on the upcoming show. Hmm..
Anyways, these two are still young and while they already have a child, there’s no point in rushing down the aisle. They are still together and working out their flaws which is necessary before tying the knot. Gannon has two great parents who love him and each other very much and that’s all that really matters.
